Karot
Karot celebrates achieving your exercise goals of personal significance by creating customizable artwork based on your workout data. My role in this project was to bring the initial idea to life through branding and UX/UI design. The duration of this project took 2 months.
My Process
User Flows
This project began over many dinner conversations with my husband as the initial idea was his. He has a love for exercise and seeing the stats from his training as do many others hence the success of Strava and similar exercise recording platforms. After the concept evolved into a tangible app idea, I create a user flow diagram for the MVP. I then began sketching possible artwork designs and how they might be created using data.
Wireframing
Once some artwork ideas had been created, I began sketching my initial ideas for wireframes using pen and paper. These then evolved into mid-fidelity wireframes on screen using Adobe XD for both iOS and Android. Once at this stage I created a prototype and conducted user testing to flag any issues with the functionality of my designs.
Final Designs
Once I had made changes based on user feedback, I continued to create my high-fidelity wireframes implementing my UI designs based on brand guidelines. Throughout this process I consistently consulted with my husband (and client) as his idea began coming to life.
Conclusion
While there are a lot of extra features we would add in later iterations, this MVP design is now being developed and will hopefully become a real product in the future.
